While SpaceX successfully launched supplies destined for the International Space Station, its attempt to land the first stage of its Falcon 9 rocket on an ocean platform didn't go as well.

I can't say I am surprised. Its hard enough to land a helicopter on a ship with the strong winds and unsteady water. Trying to land a rocket seems almost silly in comparison. I'm sure they will work out whatever kinks they have in the system and give it another shot. Being able to recover and reuse the different stages of a rocket is going to be what makes space flight more readily available.
