Those guys at TVROSAT have been trouble for quite some time. They invited Rainier over there to join which we gracefully accepted. Whenever something positive Rainier did was posted they attacked and belittled us. We put up for it for a while then found out the facts behind the hidden agenda. It appears the invite was nothing more than a way to promote their hidden agenda of piracy trying to kill off the legal way of doing things. Rainier then left that forum with its messed up agenda and moved strictly over here to promote the good news.
The TVROSAT site first began with promoting piracy, then after a few complained, they spun off their pirate site sattesters to get the job done. Sattesters got shutdown by Cisco, the programmers, and ICANN. After the smoke cleared away from the pirate meltdown, the original intent of TVROSAT resurfaced and continues on to this day. Piracy is now under control by Cisco, but many at TVROSAT still lie about content available, equipment etc, hanging on by a wing and a prayer to sell the offshore junk to newbies that don't know the facts.
Instead of doing something legal, positive and good for the satellite industry, TVROSAT continues to drag the good name of people that do into the mud. Its best folk steer clear of them and refuse to buy offshore cheap products they sell.
Update: Rainier has confirmed proof lately that a handful of members from Satelliteguys and other forums have a large part doing this mudslinging themselves or ghostwriting for posts over at TVROSAT. A strong advocate in this campaign is the owner of a well known fta product who also has been very vocal with a phone campaign trying to slow Rainier's growth over the years. Out of professional courtesy at this time Rainier will not name names, they know who they are. If this type of activity continues though Rainier will be taking strong legal actions against these individuals.
