I was browsing your website recently and fully applaud your efforts in working hard to bring us a c-band subscription service, but I was just wondering, have you thought much about the security of your system?   :thinking

As you know, DISH, DirecTV and other satellite providers have been aggressively targeted by pirates in the past and some providers continue to be plagued by key sharing and IPTV sharing even though their smart cards are secure.

In the event of a security breach, will Rainier have the resources to deal with it? The big players spend hundreds of millions of dollars in periodic smart card swaps and improvements in security technology. A serious security breach in your technology could completely destroy your business unless you have the financial resources to deal with it.

We are working with vendors on a very secure system for our platform. it will not be what is in place currently. This change in gears has delayed rollout some but will be the best for all involved in the long run. We cannot say much about how it will work to the public due to security reasons and NDA's signed. Rest assure, Rainier as well as the vendors have today's and tomorrow's piracy and security under control.

Piracy does nothing but hurt the industry. Those that promote it just don't get that. Piracy is a crime and can ruin your life just like any other crime when your caught. Unfortunately some need to learn this the hard way. CA vendors as well as Rainier will prosecute those involved with piracy against our CA system, and or products.
