Till the 1990's the telephone company used c band for point to point terrestrial microwave links. These signals were offset from satellite downlink frequencies. If you encountered a strong terrestrial signal in the path of the satellite you were tuning it could cause the AGC in your receiver to lock to that signal. Those with issues used TI filters and screening methods to resolve the problem.  A proper site survey checking for TI and a good link budget was very important for minimizing any issues ahead of time. The same methods could be used today if a problem arose. A professional technician with the proper equipment and training is your best line of defense to avoiding any signal related issues.

High quality dishes, feeds, lnb's, cable, etc (that Rainier sells) are critical for proper operation, especially in a TI ridden environment. Cheap offshore products sold over at those FTA places will be wiped out by any TI that will be forthcoming. It don't pay to go cheap. Do it once, do it right is the only smart way to go.

someone told me that the Way digital technology works that c band will still in a few fear with the new 5G cell phone it's not like back in the day of M A Bell phone cuz everything is digital in the way the polarities work with 5G I'm still worried about C band dying cuz of 5G

Someone told me the world is flat so it must be true. Does this someone build a time machine, went into the future, analyzed the RF spectrum and has proof of how signals interact with one another? Thats what the FCC is for. Do you understand if what your saying is true your Comcast, Dish, Direct, Charter, ect ect will no longer be able to deliver many channels to you. If you have an OTA antenna your NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, ect, will no longer be able to deliver Network programming to you. This is not some 3rd world country where station A fires up a 50kw transmitter and station B fires up a 100kw transmitter on the same frequency and battle it out. If something is done its done in a controlled manner that works for all involved. I would suggest you tell this someone he don't know what the hell he's talking about and needs to go back to school. Tell him an RF engineer told you that.

Movers are important for c band reception. There's currently a shortage of them. The Pansat AP-600 stock ran out. Alternatives are the 4DTV, or older analog receiver. 4D's are excellent movers but due to capacitor and other component fatigue are breaking down. All 4D repair shops are gone.

Other alternative movers such as low cost V box stock is out too. Rick no longer sells them. The Titanium ASC,1 has it issues with miscounting and firmware bugs that rears its ugly head once your using it. These issues vary from system to system. Let Google be your friend looking for ASC-1 problems.

Rainier seems to taking the bull by the horns once again as they did with the AP-600 trying to bring a decent bug free new tracker out for its customers. Good for them!

Bigdishjohn is correct. I'll add this to his post.

Trackers are important, the MightyMini will revolutionize them with its small footprint, easy setup and operation, and Rainier's own in house design PowerPunch circuitry. HBO's in PowerVue are international feeds not for the US. IMHO HBO is a joke these days.

I'm not inside Rainiers labs. Don't know anymore then what I read at Rainiers sites.

Had a ASC-1. It had count issues and dish runaway. Titanium support guy blamed it on my actuator. Hooked up an AP600 and it was fine, read of similar incidents at Ricks and other forums, dunno.

What dish and mover do you run Dominic?  Are you an old 4dtv guy?

My cousin in Canada use to have a 4 dtv 8 years ago I never had a system yet but I remember the picture was awesome I still looking for a cheap system I can a Ford but I still want to support c band

what's your opinion on a good streaming service right now I can only afford streaming not against it but obviously c-band is better will you guys also expand into Canada

Streaming services are hidden ripoffs. Once they got you hooked your ISP will impose big bandwidth fees per month. Do the math. C band is cheaper and better.
